TPC Weekly Update 2/24

Posted by North Bay Aquatics on Feb 24 2020 at 01:17PM PST

Hello—

PRACTICE – We are back to our regular scheduled programming! Hope everyone had a nice mid-Winter Break!

ARIZONA RECAP – There was certainly a lot of great swimming at this year’s Lost Dutchman in Chandler, Arizona. Thanks to all who participated and made the trip an excellent display of teamwork and Tuna-ness! Special thanks to Elizabeth Kilgore who helped tremendously in the execution of the whole thing! We had 43 Tuna in total, 17 from TPC and the remaining swimmers train with our Pre-Senior Group (where swimmers go when they leave TPC). Overall, we had a lot of great swimming. If you want a good account of the whole experience, I’d recommend you talk to one of the families that made the trek! Highlight included:

Ashlyn Loiacono and Marina Soderlund had HUGE time drops in the 100 Fly and swam as 11-12 year olds to assist with the 12-un relays!
Lily Kilgore swam right past JO’s to Far Westerns in her 100 Free!
Rohan Kime made a ton of Finals and did a great job swimming faster on the big stage!
New(ish) Tuna Cadan Flynn swam great and made a Final in the 100 Back!
Zara Zedlitz came back from illness with a vengeance (grabbing a medal in 50 Back and dropping time all over the place!)
Our youngest swimmer, Isaac Soderlund made a Final in the 50 Fly!
Sophia Swanson, a key leg in both 10-un Girls relay victories, also grabbed a new JO time in the 50 Back!
Piper Morrell kept her spirits up battling an unfortunate warm-up injury and was a true team player, gutting out the 12-un Relay!
Zane Schuman had great 100’s, going best times in the 100 Free/Fly/Back!
Kylan Kime battled in the tough 11-12 Boys division and was a great relay swimmer as well!
Dylan McDonald (Happy Birthday!) battled back from illness to sneak into the Top 8 in many of his races—along with a breakout 50 Breast!
Blake Butcher made a Final in just about everything he swam!
Cameron Forbes battled some fast girls to win the 9-10 Girls High Point Trophy (with a couple record board swims along the way)!!!
Nico Barnard made a bunch of Finals and gained lots of big meet experience!
Esme Palmer and Mirabel Arlander (reigning Swimmers of the Month) both had great meets—Esme leading the 11-12 girls off with a massive drop in her 100 Back and kept it going from there—Mirabel swooped in on Sunday and swam best times in just about everything. Awesome!
WAY TO GO TUNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
