Hello-

TPC CLOSED NEXT WEEKTPC is closed next week and its availability for swim team will be re-evaluated weekly by the Directors and Board of Governors. This closure is in response to public health recommendations. There are no known TPC visitors, members, or staff who have been exposed to COVID-19. Please see email attached below for more details.

SPRING SWIM TEAM – In this dynamic situation, we will do the best we can to provide a safe, fun, and rewarding program for our young swimmers. Details are being worked out on what exactly this Spring session will look like; but, as of now there are a lot of unknowns. Please be patient as we figure it all out!

MONDAY UPDATE – I will send out my usual weekly update on Monday with the latest news and some ideas for your swimmers.

Hope to see you all soon!,

Coach Mike

’Dear Members,

The health and safety of our members and staff are our highest priorities, and that’s why we’ve been closely monitoring developments in the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) with a focus on its potential impact on our club.

We assure you that Tiburon Peninsula Club is taking precautions to prevent exposure to the virus. Our biggest challenge is not how to provide members the choice to use the club, but rather, how do we address exposure concerns from our staff. With the local school closures, we anticipate an influx of use that runs counter to recommended social distancing guidance and puts our staff under immense stress and great risk of exposure.

Therefore, as a safety measure, the Club will close temporarily for five days starting Monday, March 16th after which the management and board will reassess the situation. While the Clubhouse is closed, we will leave the lower courts open for member play. We know this is a rapidly evolving situation, and we will continue to explore options to reopen or partially reopen as soon as we can.

Other relevant community announcements:

In addition to other Marin County school closures, on Monday, March 16th the Reed Union School District will be closing schools for two weeks as a precaution.
Effective immediately, USTA NorCal is cancelling/postponing all events through March 31st. For more details: https://www.usta.com/en/home/stay-current/northerncalifornia/usta-norcal-statement-regarding-coronavirus.html
As of March 12th, USA Swimming has suspended all events, camps, conferences, or any occasion that requires individuals to travel and gather for the next 30 days. For more details: https://www.usaswimming.org/news-landing page/2020/03/12/coronavirus-(covid-19)-update
We will continue to keep members informed of any new developments. We will be monitoring the health situation as it relates to our operations and will keep you updated. We know this is a very difficult time for families and our community, and truly appreciate how the community has come together to address this growing health concern.

Thank you,

Rick Sichel – TPC Board President
