North Bay Aquatics’ teamwork was in fine form at the recent DeAnza Cupertino Aquatics Invitational swim meet held at the St. Ignatius Herbst Natatorium in San Francisco November 17 & 18. Coming up against massive South Bay and East Bay teams, North Bay Aquatics seized the limelight by winning all four Men’s relays, setting four new meet records in the process. Twenty-five North Bay swimmers competed in the two-day invitational meet that has been a highlight of Bay area seniors swimming since its kickoff fifteen years ago.
“Marin swimming is finally stepping out of the shadow of the South Bay and East Bay teams that have dominated the sport for the last two decades”, said North Bay Aquatics Head Coach Ken DeMont. “The remarkable and consistent performance of North Bay’s fine swimmers demonstrates what teamwork and personal achievement is all about. Our small, but focused, North Bay team was the ‘David’ to Goliath teams like DACA and Terrapins in the men’s relays.”
