North Bay Aquatics Triumphs at Junior Nationals Swim Championships

The depth and breadth of the North Bay Aquatics swim team continues to grow. All seven of the North Bay Aquatics swimmers who competed at Junior Nationals in Orlando, Florida from March 17 to 21st were finalists in individual events or relay events. Over 1500 swimmers from 280 teams competed at the meet that features some of the most promising swimmers from across the nation, many of whom will become nationally and internationally ranked swimmers. North Bay reaffirmed its reputation as one of the fastest growing "small but mighty" competitive teams, achieving remarkable success in the past two years at the Junior National level. This is bringing new attention to Marin County as a region to watch for swimming talent.
Preliminary events were swum in short course yards and finals were long course meters.
North Bay’s Deborah Roth had an amazing meet, winning 2nd place in three events: 50 back, 25.11 sc, 29.14,lc, 100 back 53.15, 1:02.61 lc and 200 back 1:56.16 sc 2:15.42 lc. She was 3rd in 200 free 1:48.87 sc, 2:03.57 lc, 4th in 50 free 23.11 sc, 26.59 lc and 17th in 100 free 51.25 sc, 57.91 lc.
North Bay's power breaststroker Jon Denton-Schneider was 3rd in 50 breast 25.71 sc, 29.30 lc, 5th in 100 55.72 sc, 1:05.91 lc, and 24th in 200 breast 2:04.86 sc and 2:33.74 lc.
In butterfly NBA’s Stephanie Christofferson was 7th in 50 fly 24.85 sc, 28.65 lc and 11th in 100 fly 55:09 sc, 1:03.01 lc.
Chris Packer was 25th in 50 free with with 21.14 sc and 23.92 lc and Trent Williams was 30th in 50 fly with 22.92 sc and 26.19 lc.
North Bay Aquatics upheld its impressive men's relay legacy with the men's 400 free relay winning 2nd with 3L92,73 sc, 3:30.24lc: Andrew Latimer, Pieter Kranenburg, Jon Denton-Schneider & Chris Packer. The mens 200 free relay won 3rd 1:23.93 sc, 1:35.80 lc: Andrew Latimer, Pieter Kranenburg, Trent Williams and Chris Packer and the NBA’s men's 200 medey relay 10th with 1:33.42: Pieter Krannenburg, Jon Denton-Schneider, Trent Willimas and Chris Packer.
