New Far Western swimmers
Congrats to Laura Slater and Elizabeth Kamai for geting their first "Q" times and thus
qualifying for the Far Westerns in April.
Thanks to Richard Beaumont, David Slater, and Britt Wilson for coming over to the meet
just to swim relays... your dedication is very much appreciated.
Girls 13-14 Medley Relay
Nicole Lung, Lexie Jordan, Katie Brush, Sally Bellinger
Other Highlights
Nicole Lung- in true "Rocky" fashion, Nicole swam some relays the first night with an
elbow that was way below 100%. The elbow kept her out of the meet the 2nd day. We needed
her to make the "A" relay happen and she not only swam, but did a lifetime best
split in the 100 fly helping us win the relay.
Fiona Duffy- I goofed before the meet informing Fiona thru my EMails that she was to
swim a relay Saturday afternoon when in fact she wasn't (perhaps my motto should be
"coaching with confusion"). She stuck around for it and was told basically at the last
minute that it was not to be. I felt horrible that this occurred , but Fiona showed
great maturity in letting her disappointment go and helped cheer on the relays. Plus,
she had a great meet that was well deserved.
Swim Chicks- the 11-12 boys free relay (Dillon Moscone, Rod Hesh, Chris Packer, Shayan
Sayadi) donned some caps that said "swim chicks" for their race on Sunday. 8 by 10
glossies will soon follow - check out the picture at the top of the page.
It is great to see kids sticking their neck out a little bit.
Finally thanks to all the parents who timed and officiated in some capacity.
We had a tremendous amount of help (including some of our swimmers who timed) and
I can't thank you enough.
