January 15-16, 2005
meet results
For those of you who were at the meet the past two days, I don't have to tell you that our team swam really well. For those of you who weren't there, let me tell you that our team swam really well. More importantly to me was the way we conducted ourselves at the meet. We had great spirit and great team support across the board. Our team is perhaps tighter and more cohesive than it has ever been. I couldn't be prouder. Thanks to all of you parents who timed, corralled, served food, computed, officiated, and cheered not only your own kids, but our team.

I would like to think of this meet as not the pinnacle of what we are trying to do, but the springboard for even better things in the future. I have a feeling we have many fired up swimmers about right now, and I hope we can keep that focus and enthusiasm as we get back to work. Our kids work hard in the pool during a time of the year that going swimming might not be the most appealing thing to do. The payoff for that commitment shows when we perform as we did. SOOOOO swimmers...get yourself to workout and lets see if we can take another step forward as we head into the 2005 season.

As a team, we ended up 3rd place. Same as last year although this year we had a much smaller team. Well beyond my expectations going into the meet. I don't have complete results, but off the top of my head I will try to give some stats on what happened. Forgive me if I miss someone or something.

**If any of you were there for this relay, you saw one of the best races of the meet. Kate swam an anchor leg that will go down in the annals of Tuna lore!!

Girls 11-12 200 Medley relay (Deborah R, Madison Livingston, Devon D, Laura S)
Girls 200 free relay (Deborah R, Roxanne Hesh, Devon D, Laura S)
Girls 13-14 200 free, 400 free, 200 Medley, 400 Medley (Stephanie C, Elizabeth K, Kelly Garrett, Saza D-L)
Boys 13-14 200 free, 400 free, 400 Medley ( Dillon Moscone, Chris Packer, Nolan Mattox, Rod Hesh, Shayan Sayadi)
** These 13-14 boys relays were very gratifying for me . Last year at this meet, with almost the same cast, we placed 8th ( out of 8) in these relays. This year we won two of them and got second in the other. Shows what a year of training and growth can do for a swimmer!!

I was going to list new AA times, but was overwhelmed with how many there were..Congratulations to all those who achieved these new standards
