Zone 3 Recap
I want to start by saying a huge THANK YOU – to all the parents who stepped up and helped out to make this meet happen. We were tasked with a lot of volunteer jobs and we made it work! A special shout out to our TPC and PS team parents Pere Wait and Elizabeth Kilgore for coordinating everything – we couldn’t do it without you!!!
This meet was the first one in a long time for many, and we saw some really great swimming. While the speed wasn’t there for a lot of our swimmers (we are in the midst of a heavy training block) what was really cool to see was the skills that we have been practicing showing up in races. Our swimmers are swimming and racing better than ever before. They are showing toughness, grit, and attention to details, which shows their hard work at practice is paying off.
The other thing to note, and probably the coolest of all, was we were paid a huge compliment from another coach at the meet. This coach said that whatever we are doing is really awesome, not just because we have fast swimmers – but because they seem super happy and like they are having so much fun. This is the ultimate goal we strive for. It was so great to see swimmers of all ages cheering each other on, smiling and laughing before and after races, dancing during the finals delays, and ultimately supporting each other and all competing like a team. Excited to see what comes in Arizona…

GO TUNA!!!
